∑ JUNE 5, 2014: One of my most horrific memories of growing up were the 1984 riots in which thousands of Sikhs were killed in many parts of India. My home city Delhi bore a huge brunt of this. Amongst the thousands that were killed was a friend of mine, Davinder Singh. Davi also happened to be a cricketer whose career was poised for take-off when his life (along with his brother fatherís) was brutally cut short. I was completely astonished this week by my son Neel when he showed me a short story he wrote for a school project. He based the story on Davi and the events surrounding the riots. I had no idea that my occasional ramblings about those events had had such an effect on him. Here is the story.
