In February 2010 I was a Canadian Visiting Lecture in India, sponsored by the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute. I spent three weeks in Delhi and Kokata, giving lectures and attending a conference (see my cv for details). Here I am with UBC Sanskrit scholar, Mandakranta Bose, on the steps of the Victoria Memorial, in Kolkata.

University of Pécs
Posted May 9th, 2009In April 2009, I taught 5 classes at the University of Pécs in postcolonial literature and delivered lectures at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) and Gáspár Károli University, Budapest. Students at all these universities are keenly interested in Canadian literature and Canadian English; my hosts were wonderfully hospitable. Both cities are beautiful and full of wonderful architecture, amazing art museums, and delicious pastry. Pécs has been named the European Capital of Culture for 2010.
