My work falls mainly within an intersection of the philosophy of language, the philosophy of mind, and metaphysics, although I have also done some work in the philosophy of law. Recent topics of interest include metasemantics, cognitive attitudes and their reports, the metaphysics of modality and essence, and epistemic modality in relation to metaphysical modality. I recently wrote a book called Necessary Intentionality that brings central themes in the metaphysics of modality to bear on cognitive matters, most notably the aboutness of mental states and episodes. I am an editor for the Canadian Journal of Philosophy.

I am currently at work on a second book titled Semantics, Metasemantics, Aboutness. A draft of the preface can be found here.
