The guests were many, consisting of not only the neighbors, but relations from Portage la Prairie, and friends from Neepawa, Franklin, Gordon, Creeford, and Brandon. About 5:15 the party repaired to the beautiful lawn beside the house, where an evergreen arch had been constructed by the edge of the small park of ornamental trees. The people formed a circle in front of this, leaving an avenue for the contracting parties to enter by. At 5:20 the groom appeared, attended by his brother Harvey, and was followed closely by the bride, supported by her father and elder sister. The ceremony was then performed by Rev. Mr. Avanch, Baptist Minister at Neepawa. The "kodak" fiend was there and took then as they stood. Then followed the congratulations and good wishes of the onlookers. The bride and groom respectively looked their best, and many complimentary remarks were made concerning the appearance of the two. Tea was served from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. after which followed a programme consisting of recitations, speeches, and instrumentals, the party dispersing about midnight. Not often there is an affair of this kind when the bride has as nice a place to go as in this case.
