Ronald Fedoruk is a Designer and Drafter living in Ottawa. His Theatre career has spanned more than forty years, and he has created designs for many Canadian Theatres, including Theatre Calgary, The Bastion Theatre, The Belfry Theatre, Green Thumb Theatre, The Royal Winnipeg Ballet, and the Vancouver Opera. For six years he was the Scenographer for Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival, for which he designed a dozen productions.
Fedoruk taught Scenography in the Theatre Program at UBC from 1989 till 2012. He served a term as Head of the Department of Theatre, Film and Creative Writing and he was Director of UBC's first year Foundations Program. He retired from UBC in 2012.
From 1993 to 2000, Fedoruk was a Canadian representative to the International Theatre Design Organization (OISTAT). His work was exhibited in the prestigious Prague Quadrennial Scenographic Exposition in 1995. He has also been a member of Associated Designers of Canada, the Canadian Institute for Theatre Technology and the US Institute for Theatre Technology, and he has published a number of articles in the journals of all three organizations.
Fedoruk has been a Director of the BC section of USITT, Scenography Canada Research Society, and Opera Breve Vancouver. He served 12 years on the Board of Directors of Bard on the Beach and was Chair of Bard's Site and Facilities Committee.
