CHIN 104 (001) is an intensive 6-credit Chinese course for non-heritage students. It places emphasis on the four language skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Lectures are coordinated with communicative classroom activities and on-line resources to help students acquire more Chinese vocabulary, sentence patterns and syntax. By the end of this course, students are expected to write about 350 simplified characters, and to compose essays of approximately 150 characters on given topics.
