About Me

I am a cognitive linguist, interested in the applications of metaphor theory, blending, and construction grammar to a variety of phenomena, especially grammatical expression of viewpoint. I usually work on English, but occasionally also on Polish. I speak and write both English and Polish.

I also work on the applications of cognitive linguistic theories to literary discourse. I am particularly interested in viewpoint phenomena in the narrative, and in formal correlates of literary meaning. I am just starting a SSHRC project on "Understanding multimodal communication", which will investigate artifacts combining language, image, and materiality, form the cognitive linguistics and cognitive poetics perspective.
